) is thrilled to present "BROADWAY SWINGS" every Sunday evening at
7:00 pm. The series presents Broadway's brightest stars singing and
swinging. With many of today's leading performers fostering dreams
of becoming jazz singers, "Broadway Swings" gives them their chance.
Backed by the award winning Barry Levitt Trio, this is not just a
collection of Broadway performer's cabaret acts in a jazz club, but
real jazz played by real jazz musicians.
The summer "BROADWAY SWINGS" schedule is as follows:

Also scheduled to appear are Adriane Lenox, Lee Roy Reams, Bill
Nolte, Debbie Gravitte, Shoshana Bean and surprise guests.
The Iridium Jazz Club has been thrilling International
jazz fans since 1994. The New Iridium, now located at Broadway and
51st Street, has been designed to be among the best live music experiences
available anywhere. Improvements to the club include a state of
the art Meyer Sound System conceived by the legendary guitarist
Les Paul and an intimate and visually exciting setting with stunning
acoustics by renowned designer Larry Bogdanow and Associates. What
hasn't changed is Iridium's stellar roster of jazz artists, the
"Wine Spectator" award winning wine list and upscale cuisine including
a brand new tapas menu.
Iridium Jazz Club started with a mission in December
1994: to present local artists in an attractive setting. The Iridium
took an unplanned evolutionary approach, utilizing local artists
culled from homemade tapes. Soon, Iridium was "discovered" and was
fortunate to begin operations in the midst of a jazz revival, the
success of jazz at Lincoln Center, and an affluent West Side looking
to experience a real NY Jazz Club. There have been numerous major
releases recorded live at Iridium from such artists as Jacky Terrasson,
Charlie Haden, Kenny Barron, Benny Carter, The Jazz Messengers,
Sweets Edison, and Clark Terry.
There is a $20 cover charge plus $15 food or beverage
minimum.
