CABARET CARES AUGUST SHOW FEATURES PETER MAC IN JUDY AND ME
"Cabaret Cares," the hit benefit series, continues on Thursday August

) with cabaret performer Peter Mac in his hit one man show "Judy and
Me." The show is performed and written by Peter Mac, and tells the
story of his life, growing up in a homophobic town on Long Island.
It also deals with the abuse he experience during that time and how
his love for Judy Garland got him through the rough spots.
The show was produced in the summer of 2002 and performed
at THE DUPLEX downtown New York. In the fall the show was turned
into a 6-person, 90-minute one act play and was performed at ROSE'S
TURN. The show was originally scheduled to run for four nights but
ended up running for two years to rave reviews. It earned a 2002
HX Award nomination for best gay play.
Cabaret Cares is the monthly cabaret benefit series
produced by Joseph Macchia and Joseph John Productions. The series
benefits two AIDS organizations in New York,BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY
FIGHTS AIDS (http://www.bcefa.org/ ) and Help Is On The Way Today.

) is the nation's leading industry AIDS grant making association.
Help Is On the Way Today is a new not-for-profit organization founded
by Joseph Macchia to assist children living with HIV and AIDS in
the tri-state area when government agencies fall short.
There is a $25 cover and a $15 food/drink minimum.
