HIGHLIGHTS IN JAZZ FEATURES TRIO TIME ON OCTOBER 11TH

Jack Kleinsinger is pleased to present the opening concert for his 35th season of Highlights In Jazz, New York's longest running jazz concert series, "Trio Time" on Thursday, October 11th at 8:00 pm at THE TRIBECA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (199 Chambers Street, NYC - 212-220-1460 - http://www.tribecapac.org/ ). This show will feature two exciting trios: Manhattan Trinity and 3 Guitars.

Manhattan Trinity features the soulful pianist Cyrus Chestnut leading an all-star ensemble with veteran bassist George Mraz (Thad Jones-Mel Lewis, Stan Getz) and the master drummer Lewis Nash (Betty Carter, Ron Carter, Wynton Marsalis). Manhattan Trinity play bold originals and refreshingly reinterpreted standards.

3 Guitars is features Highlights' favorites Bucky Pizzarelli, Frank Vignola, and James Chirillo. Bucky Pizzarelli is a guitarist's, guitarist whose career has spanned nearly 50 years. His unique 7 string guitar sound has been featured on countless recordings, he's toured with all the greats including Benny Goodman and was the staff guitarist for the Dick Cavett TV show. Frank Vignola is one of the young masters of the guitar. He can play in any style, but his heart is firmly planted in the Gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt. James Chirillo studied and performed with the late-great four-string jazz guitarist "Tiny" Grimes and was a member of both the Benny Goodman and Buck Clayton orchestras.
