CABARET NEWS - NEW YORK CITY

MARCUS SIMEONE'S "AT LAST" CD TO BE RELEASE IN OCTOBER
Miranda Music (http://www.mirandamusic.com/ ) is proud to announce the release of "At Last," the debut CD of widely acclaimed vocalist Marcus Simeone. The CD will have it's release celebration on Fridays October 12th and 26th at 8:00 pm at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - http://www.westbankcafe.com/ ). At Last is an introspective, imaginative collection of soaring ballads, pop songs and American classics brilliantly arranged by musical director Barry Levitt and his quartet featuring: Chip Jackson on bass, Brian Gryce on percussion and Kenny Brescia on electric guitar. This is a "live" recording of a concert appearance at The Encore. The performance on October 12th will benefit Seamen's Society For Children and Families (http://www.roots-wings.org/ ) on Staten Island.

A singular voice that captures the romantic magic of Johnny Mathis fused with the jazz sensibilities of greats like Jimmy Scott and Al Jarreau and the raw emotion of Eva Cassidy (whom he's been compared to.) A totally versatile vocalist, Marcus Simeone crosses musical boundaries with ease from jazz to alternative pop to familiar standards on this thrilling new album. With over 300 demo recordings under his belt, Marcus Simeone has gained a reputation as a singer's singer within the industry. On the new CD, he displays a heart-wrenching sensitivity and powerful and articulate command of every melodic line along with his trademark flawless phrasing. His pitch perfect, multi-octave voice dazzles audiences wherever he performs.

Marcus Simeone started singing in public ten years ago. Making his Manhattan night club debut in 2001, he quickly received wide critical accolades and has been booked consistently in clubs like Don't Tell Mama, The Duplex, The Encore, Helen's, The Laurie Beechman Theater, The Manor and numerous clubs in the Tri-state area as well as theaters and night clubs in Palm Springs, California, Boca Raton, Florida and Coral Cables, Florida. He has also been a popular regular at the Annual Cabaret Convention. He has been interviewed in the Associated press and profiled in several New York outlets. In 2008, he will begin an 8-month engagement at The Metropolitan Room.

Marcus is also passionate about his other commitment and volunteer social work for several years. He is also an NYU honor student working for his Master's. Previously, he has worked extensively helping AIDS patients and is currently working for foster children and their families at Seamen's Society For Children and Families.

There will be a $15 music charge and a $12 Food/Drink minimum.
