GRETCHEN REINHAGEN GETS BACK TO BASICS
Gretchen Reinhagen brings her new cabaret show "Back to Basics" to
DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-757-0788 -
http://www.donttellmamanyc.com/
) in October for four performances - on Wednesday the 10th at 9:15
pm, Monday the 15th at 9:00 pm, Sunday the 21st at 8:15 pm and Tuesday
the 23rd at 7:00 pm. Musical director is Steven Silverstein. The show
is a collection of some of the most loved standards as well as a few
not so standard gems thrown into the mix. In this show, Reinhagen
gets down to the basics of just singing good tunes. "Back to Basics"
follows her successful 2006 show "Redefined" which earned rave reviews
and a MAC nomination for Steven Silverstein's original song, "A Strong
Wind".
While still fairly new to the New York Cabaret scene,
Reinhagen is no newcomer to the stage. She received a B.A. in music
from Pepperdine University and has gone on to perform in venues
ranging from the House of Blues in New Orleans to the Assembly Rooms
in Edinburgh, Scotland. As an actress, she's enjoyed such roles
as Miss Hannigan in "Annie", Nancy in "Oliver", the Narrator in
"Joseph..." and Janis Joplin in "Beehive".
