MAC IS BACK AS JUDY AT THE DUPLEX
Peter Mac moves to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street,

) for three performances in October. With musical direction by David
Shenton, Peter Mac as "Judy: Live in Concert!" plays Tuesdays October
9th and 16th at 9:30 pm, and on Wednesday, October 24th at 9:30 pm.
On October 9th Peter is joined by Broadway songstress Liz McKendry
(The Producers). On the 16th everybody's favorite Golden Girl, Bea
Arthur (John Schaefer) guest stars and the October 24th show features
the multi-talented chantuese Mary Ann Piccilo joining Judy for her
Halloween treat entitled Ghosties, Ghoulies and Garland, featuring
ËJootsÓ singing some of her favorite Monster hits.
Judy: LIVE IN CONCERT! showcases many of the expected
Garland signature standards such as "Swanee," "Zing! Went the Strings
of My Heart," and "The Man That Got Away" along with a sampling
of new songs and surprises. Each performance features a brand new
concert of Garland standards and specialties.
Peter Mac is renowned for his homage to the rainbow
girl, garnering special raves for his determination to bring to
life the style, wit, and musical legacy of an artist. His autobiographical
play, Judy and Me, enjoyed scores of performances across several
recent theatrical seasons; in 2003, he debuted his first Garland
cabaret show, A Friend of Judy's. Last summer, the actor was interviewed
for a new United Kingdom television documentary, "Hollywood Goddesses,"
which will be televised from London later this spring. In a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity, Mac took the stage as Judy at New York's historic Palace
Theatre, recreating moments from Garland's concert repertoire and
the three famous engagements she played at that venue.
Happily received by longtime fans and newcomers alike,
Peter Mac as Judy! provides the kind of musical and dramatic experience
unique to the cabaret world. As per the critics:
