The 2007 New York Cabaret Convention kicks off tonight at FREDERICK

) with a Gala Opening Night at 6:00 pm. Tickets for nearly all of
the four nightly events are still available via CenterCharge or at
the box office which is open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The latest

MONDAY - NOVEMBER 5th - GALA OPENING!
The following performers will help launch the 18th Anniversary Cabaret
Convention in classic performances of classic songs: Barbara Brussell,
Judy Butterfield, Barbara Carroll, Tony DeSare, Jeff Harnar, Maude
Maggart, Andrea Marcovicci, Steve Ross, Catherine Russell, Jennifer
Sheehan and Paula West, The evening will also feature the presentation
of The Mabel Award to Andrea Marcovicci in grateful acknowledgment
of the elegance, intelligence, communicative power, and musical magic
she ceaselessly shares with the world-wide cabaret community.
TUESDAY - NOVEMBER 6th - THE ART OF THE PERFORMANCE
Featuring Marilyn Maye. Act One: Christine Ebersole, Greta, Pamela
Luss, Steve Kirwan, Anna Bergman and Billy Stritch. Act Two: "The
Art of The Performance" featuring Marilyn Maye. Also there will be
a presentation of The Bart Howard Encouragement Award to Billy Stritch
in happy recognition of his outstanding musical taste and gifts as
composer, arranger, singer, musician, and exemplary cabaret entertainer.
WEDNESDAY - NOVEMBER 7th - CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION!
The evening honors the 100th birthday anniversaries of an unforgettable
roster of composers, lyricists, and performers. Performers include
Nancy Anderson, Joyce Breach, Ann Hampton Callaway, Eric Comstock,
Cynthia Crane, Barbara Fasano, Terese Genecco, Valerie Lemon, Phillip
Officer, Julie Reyburn, Lumiri Tubo and Julie Wilson. Two awards will
be presented: The Julie Wilson Award to Julie Reyburn in joyful gratitude
for the vocal majesty and lyrical interpretation she continually manifests
in her classic presentations of The Great Popular Songbook; The Dick
Gallagher Award to Eric Comstock in celebration of his exceptional
expertise and outstanding achievement as vocalist, accompanist, musical
director, and cabaret producer.
THURSDAY - NOVEMBER 8 - FOR EDYTHE, WITH LOVE
The glorious finale hits its peak with a loving musical remembrance
of a great, good friend to The Mabel Mercer Foundation Edythe Kenner,
who cherished cabaret, its stars and songs. Taking part in the performance
are Adam Alexander, Karen Akers, Klea Blackhurst, Sammy Goldstein,
Harmony Keeney, Boston Musical Theater, Sidney Myer, Craig Rubano,
KT Sullivan, Martin Vidnovic, Wesla Whitfield and Amra-Faye Wright.
Presentation of The Paula Laurence Award will be made to Sidney Myer
in heartfelt and ongoing appreciation for the continual caring, compassion,
and camaraderie he unfailingly exhibits as performer, purveyor, and
long-time cabaret producer and entrepreneur.
