SUNDAY BRUNCH WITH LAURA HULL TRIO AT EIGHTY EIGHTS
EIGHTY EIGHTS (1467 Main Street, Rahway, NJ - 732-499-7100 - http://www.88sbistrojazz.com/
) has announced a Sunday Singers Showcase, hosted by Laura Hull for
every other Sunday, starting January 7th. This Sunday Brunch event,
from 12 noon to 4:00 pm will feature the Laura Hull Trio and will feature
singers from around the metro area. Singers are welcome to contact Laura
for further information. Eighty Eights is an American bistro serving
up a terrific menu of live jazz. This brand new venue will host top
regional and local talent. There is no cover and a $15 minimum.
A native of NYC, Laura took the first steps of her musical
journey at the tender age of seven in a performance in an all-girls
summer camp production of The King and I. Through her formative years,
the road led Laura to the resorts of upstate New York's fabled Catskill
Mountains, where she practiced her craft performing with numerous
bands and learned to sing in a variety of genres and styles. Through
it all, Laura also maintained a day job in the financial services
industry, and in 1981, put her ambitions as a performer on hold to
focus on her business career. Laura redirected her energies to resurrect
her music career, and in 2003, with the help of some friends, she
launched her return to the stage by developing a one-woman show. No
Regrets played to excellent notices during a successful tri-city run,
and soon thereafter, Laura was leading a jazz trio, singing in a vocal
ensemble, and serving as a fulltime performing songwriter.
Laura's current repertoire is comprised of American
popular standards, jazz classics, and her original compositions. Laura
is also the host of "Monday Night Hullabaloo," a vocalist showcase
presented at STAND UP NY (238 West 78th Street, NYC - 212-595-0850
- http://www.standupny.com/ ). She serves as a music consultant for
various venues, and performs all over the northeast.
Laura has two CDs to her credit. "Hullabaloo," recorded
in 2006, is a collection of original music featuring several songs
which garnered songwriting awards. "Here I Go Again," a 3-song EP,
was released in 2003. Laura also lends her voice as one-third of the
unique vocal ensemble, "3 For The Show," and serves on the Board of
Directors for the New Jersey Jazz Society. For more information, please
