AMANDA McBROOM MAKES PITTSBURGH CABARET DEBUT
Widely-known singer/songwriter and cabaret artist Amanda McBroom performs
in Pittsburgh for the first time in the Riverview Series at THE RENAISSANCE
PITTSBURGH HOTEL (107 Sixth Street, Pittsburgh, PA - tkts: 412-394-3353

) on Friday, November 9th at 7:30 (sold out) and 9:30 pm. She is accompanied
musical director and Pittsburgh native Michele Brourman. Ms. McBroomÁs
appearance follows a successful run at CaliforniaÁs Rubicon Theatre
Company playing Edna in Edward AlbeeÁs A Delicate Balance to high critical
acclaim.
She has had guest-starring or recurring roles on such
television seriesÁ as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Hawaii Five-O,
Magnum, P.I., M*A*S*H, and Gunsmoke, and artists such as Leanne Rimes,
Barry Manilow, Judy Collins, Barbara Cook, Anne Murray, Harry Belafonte,
Betty Buckley, Stephanie Mills, The Manhattan Transfer, Donny Osmond,
and the Chipmunks have all recorded her songs.
McBroom has performed in concert halls around the world
including Carnegie Hall in New York, the FORD Amphitheatre in Los
Angeles, Wolftrap and Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, Angel Recital
Hall in Sydney, Meyer Hall in Melbourne, Memorial Hall in Taiwan,
and Pizza on the Park in London. Her concert career was documented
over two evenings in ManhattanÁs RCA building for release as Amanda
McBroom Live at Rainbow & Stars by the DRG label in 1995 and remains
her only live concert recording.
Tickets are $45 and include entertainment, hors d'oeuvres
and beverage.
On Saturday November 10th, Ms. McBroom will lead a master
class entitled ËBuilding a Song as a TeamÓ with her husband singer
and director George Ball, and musical director Michele Brourman. E-mail
