WESLA WHITFIELD RETURNS TO THE PLUSH ROOM "JUST IN TIME"
Wesla Whitfield returns to THE EMPIRE PLUSH ROOM at the York Hotel (940

) with a new show entitled "Just In Time" for a 3-week engagement on
Tuesdays through Sundays, January 16th through February 4th. She is
joined by her musical director Mike Greensill. The show promises to
be a celebration of the Great American Songbook you won't want to miss!
Ms. Whitfield inhabits that indeterminate zone where
jazz and cabaret meet. Trained in classical music and opera, Wesla
has toiled for more than three decades to become one of the most gifted
performers breathing life into that exquisite body of Broadway tunes,
movie songs and Hit Parade numbers, known collectively asthe Great
American Songbook. With her deft sense of time and uncanny ability
to connect with the emotional truth in a lyric, the jazz world has
had no qualms about embracing her as one of its own.
She has garnered numerous national television, radio
and written media credits including, All Things Considered, People
Magazine, CBS Sunday Morning, New York Times Sunday Magazine and a
recent issue of 'O' Magazine. This special engagement will mark the
highly anticipated return, and 26th appearance of Wesla Whitfield
to The Empire Plush Room.
