Betty Buckley knows of the greatness of Broadway first
hand. She moved from her native Texas to New York City as a starry-eyed
lass of 21. Good fortune smiled on her almost immediately when she
was cast in the musical "1776," making her Broadway debut as Martha
Jefferson singing "He Plays the Violin." In 1982 she won the coveted
Tony Award for her show-stopping performance as Grizabella in the
Andrew Lloyd Webber musical "Cats" singing the score's best song,
"Memory."
Buckley continued with star turns in "The Mystery of
Edwin Drood" in 1985, "Song and Dance" in 1986, "Carrie- The Musical"
in 1988 (recapping her 1976 movie role), and as one of the most memorable
divas in Hollywood history as "Norma Desmond" in "Sunset Boulevard"
in 1994. She followed with "The Triumph of Love' in 1997 with F. Murray
Abraham, garnering her a Tony Award nomination. She has extensive
television credits, including a four-year stint in the series "Eight
is Enough."
Buckley now divides her time between stage, television
and concert roles and her dream ranch near Fort Worth, Texas. She
spends approximately half the time performing and the other half being
the horsewoman of her girlish dreams.
Tickets are $45 - $55.
