WALLOWITCH
& ROSS Release CD With Party & Show at DANNY'S
Wallowitch
and Ross, the cabaret act that debuted in 1984 at the former Ballroom
in New York City and kept audiences in stitches, is finally on CD!
On Tuesday, October 15th at 9:30 pm, a one-night-only performance
will celebrate the Miranda Music CD release of "Wallowitch &
Ross" at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (346 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-265-8133
- http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/).
There is a $15 cover and a $10 food-drink minimum. Pre-show dining
applies to the minimum.
The evening of song represented
on the CD features such titles as "Monkey Doodle-Do," "Bend Down,
Sister," and "Up Yours," as well as several rarities by their idol
Irving Berlin, such as "Cohen Owes Me Ninety-Seven Dollars." It was
Greg Dawson, the owner of the Ballroom, who encouraged John and Bertram
to put together an act. They dedicate their CD to Greg. "We want him
to know how very committed and thankful we are to him," John says.
John Wallowitch is perhaps
best known in cabaret circles for his own songs, both heartfelt and
hilarious, for his solo performances of those songs and for performances
with such cabaret stars as Dixie Carter, Lynn Lobban and Michael Belliveau.
Bertram Ross is Martha Graham's former longtime lead dancer and choreographer.
On this CD, John wears the hat of collector of songs from Tin Pan
Alley and Hollywood that sound hilarious, often unintentionally, and
Bertram is another elegant clown.
