Stevie Holland Releases "Almost Like Being In Love"

"Almost Like Being In Love" is a new recording by Stevie Holland from the 150 Music label. The CD was developed out of Stevie's show at Danny's Skylight Room in December 2002. Produced and arranged by Gary William Friedman, this CD showcases Stevie's swinging, soulful and emotionally charged vocals. She's accompanied by pianist Jesse Green (son of jazz great Urbie Green) and various instrumental combinations.

The material on the CD consists of some of the finest pop, jazz and theater standards and includes 2 original love songs: one by Stevie and her husband, composer Gary William Friedman and one by Will Holt and Gary William Friedman from their new Broadway-bound musical DREAM MOUNTAIN.

The CD's release on April 22nd will be celebrated with 2 special performances at DANNY'S SKYLIGHT ROOM (346 West 46th Street, NYC - 1-212-265-8133 - http://www.dannysgrandseapalace.com/) on Tuesdays, April 22nd & 29th at 9:00 pm. Stevie will be backed by a trio led by pianist Jesse Green. There is a $15 cover charge with a $10 food/drink minimum.

Stevie Holland has won critical praise for her performances in a variety of cabaret rooms and concert halls including Town hall, Kaufman Concert Hall, Merkin Hall and sold out shows at West Bank's Laurie Beechman Theatre (the last 2 presented by legendary promoter Sid Bernstein). "Do You Ever Dream?", an inspirational pop CD marked her recording debut as a singer/lyricist. In response to the acts of terror on September 11, 2001, she wrote and recorded a CD single entitled "This Is America" which received a heartfelt endorsement from former President Bill Clinton and served as a fundraiser for a scholarship for victim's family members.
