Jazz singer Wanda Stafford heralds the release of her new CD "Live At Pearls" with performances at CLUB JAZZ NOUVEAU (2801 Leavenworth, San Francisco, CA., Tel: 415 921-2100) with two shows, at 8:00 & 10:00 on Wednesday, September 10th. "Live At Pearls" is the last recording made at the late, great San Francisco jazz club Jazz at PEARLS. For the show, Ms. Stafford is backed by Si Perkoff on piano, Michael Zisman on bass and Dave Rokeach on drums. There is a $10 cover charge.

Wanda Stafford recorded "Live at Pearls" (WINC records) in February 2003 during the final weeks before the club's closing. Featuring Si Perkoff on piano, Michael Zisman on bass and Vince Lateano on drums, Ms. Stafford performs such jazz favorites as "The Gypsy in My Soul," "I'm Old Fashioned," "Ain't That Loving You," "Lady Be Good," "Frim Fram Sauce" and "Bye Bye Blackbird."

An Indianapolis native, Wanda Stafford has spent most of her adult life in the Bay Area where she has established herself as one of the region's most esteemed jazz vocalists. She has delighted audiences at such prestigious venues such as the Plush Room, the Ritz Carlton Hotel, the Jazz Workshop, the Hungry-I and the famed Playboy Clubs in San Francisco, Chicago, New York and London. She has performed at the Art and Wine Festival in San Anselmo, the Blues By The Bay series in Sausalito and the Fairfax Jazz Festival. She also can be heard every Thursday evening at the Panama Hotel in San Rafael where she plays drums along with Si Perkoff on piano.

Ms. Stafford's discography includes the acclaimed "Let's Face The Music" with David Baker and his eight-piece band and "Songs From The Heart" featuring Al Plank on piano, Jeff Chambers on bass, Colin Bailey on drums and Noel Jewkes on horns. Her debut recording "In Love For The Very First Time" was recorded in New York on the Roulette label.

Wanda Stafford also gained fame in Marin County as the proprietor of Wanda's, her highly successful fashion boutique on the Miracle Mile in San Anselmo, specializing in one-of-a-kind clothing. Ms. Stafford closed her tremendously popular store after more than twenty years in order to devote more time and energy to her singing career.

Wanda Stafford's Live At Pearls can be ordered by mail by sending $17 to Wanda@WINC Records: P.O. Box 849, San Anselmo, California, 94960
