"FROM
WHERE I STAND" COMES TO WEST BANK

Musical
revue's encore engagement celebrates CD release on October 21st
"From
Where I Stand," a musical revue about life in New York City with book,
music and lyrics by Albert M. Tapper, will return to the THE WEST
BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909)
for a three-performance run, Wednesday, November 12th through Friday,
November 14th at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $20/$10
for MAC & CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE members.
Produced
by Jamie deRoy and directed by Edie Cowan, "From Where I Stand" is
set at the Carlyle Hotel's famed Bemelman's Bar. In just one evening,
this legendary hotspot is visited by an eclectic, humorous and occasionally
infuriating variety of New Yorkers: neurotic barflies, frustrated
apartment hunters, Sondheim haters, Sinatra fanatics, ex-con executives,
thwarted lovers, and even a surprise celebrity or two.
The show's
encore engagement - it originally played the West Bank in April 2003
- will celebrate the release of the show's CD on Tuesday, October
21st by Original Cast Records. The CD will be sold in New York City
at Tower Records Lincoln Center, Footlight Records and Colony, as
well as various stores throughout the country.
"From Where
I Stand" stars Kim Cea, winner of the 2003 MAC Award for Best Female
Comic and the 2003 Budweiser Ladies of Laughter contest at Madison
Square Garden. An accomplished musical theater actress, Ms. Cea is
starring in the Broadway-bound workshop of "Mask." The cast also features
Bill Dyszel, Brian Kuchta, Adam Mastrelli and Debra Pitkin. Musical
direction is by Lanny Meyers. Set design is by Edward Gianfrancesco.
Technical direction is by Mason Swearingen.
Albert M.
Tapper wrote the music and co-wrote the lyrics and book for "David,"
a show based on the biblical story of the Israelite king that played
at the Arena Stage in Washington, DC. He also composed the music for
the ballet The "Seduction of Bethsheeba," presented by the Central
Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra. "ImPerfect Chemistry," for which
he wrote the story and composed the music, played the Minetta Lane
Theatre. He is a member of the Dramatists' Guild of America and ASCAP.
A true Renaissance
man, Mr. Tapper has also co-written four humor books: A Guy Goes Into
a Bar, A Guy Goes Into a Gym, A Guy Goes Into a Doctor's Office and
A Minister, a Priest And a Rabbi.
Mr. Tapper
and Ms. DeRoy are also producing Rick McKay's documentary, "Broadway:
The Golden Age," featuring interviews with over 100 legendary stars
of stage and screen, including Carol Burnett, Carol Channing, Angela
Lansbury, Maureen Stapleton, Elaine Stritch and Tommy Tune. A smash
hit on the film festival circuit, "Broadway: The Golden Age" has already
won "Best Documentary" Awards at the San Diego Film Festival, The
Palm Beach International Film Festival, and the ArtsFest Film Festival,
among others.
The movie
will be shown this fall at the Austin Film Festival, The Starz Denver
International Film Festival, The Hamptons International Film Festival,
The Williamstown Film Festival, The Savannah Film Festival and The
