AUS: THE GLAMOUR WEEKEND WITH NATALIE GAMSU & CAROLINE NIN
Melbourne's iconic THE BUTTERFLY CLUB (204 Bank Street, South Melbourne, VIC - 03 96902000 - http://www.thebutterflyclub.com/ ) presents "The Glamour Weekend" featuring two of the world's best credentialed cabaret stars. Natalie Gamsu, an internationally acclaimed performer who reached top of her field in South Africa and New York, now based in Sydney, returns in her new show HALLELUJAH TO HER on Thursday & Friday, November 27th & 28th at 9:00 pm. The headline act from THE LIDO in Paris, Caroline Nin, is returning for the following two nights, Saturday, November 29th at 9:00 pm and Sunday, November 30th at 8:00 pm with her new show HYMNE A PIAF.

Born and raised in Nairobi, Natalie Gamsu developed a high profile career in South Africa, before touring Europe and then in New York after moving to the US in 1992. She became one of New York's headline cabaret divas, winning the Backstage Bistro Award in 1994 for Outstanding Vocalist and the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist in 1997, and again in 2000.

HALLELUJAH TO HER is a celebration of women and all their divine quirks, bound together with an eclectic string of classics, from Henry Purcell to Sondheim to Charles Aznavour. This magical journey features a cast of funny, moving and crazy characters including a Southern couple, Baby and Daddy, married at thirteen and still going strong; Michelle, an angry Spanish woman whose husband cheats, 'But she is no victim!' and Mrs. Rabinowitz who has decided that it's time to die, but not before her game of bridge. The 'Priestess' loves them all. And sings to them. The show is written and performed by Ms. Gamsu, accompanied by Mark Jones on piano. Tickets are $32.

Caroline Nin has been described as the very essence of her countrywoman Edith Piaf, France's most famous chanteuse. As captivating and intriguing as the 'Little Sparrow', she is the epitome of style and class as she croons; she purrs and sings in perfect English, French and German. Her singing and theatrical presentation heightens both established torch songs and cabaret standards to a mesmerizing level.

Caroline Nin's HYMNE A PIAF is her tribute to Piaf. Caroline's frank, tender and moving rendition offers spine-chilling and spirited versions of familiar anthems such as 'Non', 'Je Ne Regrette Rien' and 'Padam Padam'. Tickets are $42.
