Sylvia Brooks will be making her CATALINA BAR & GRILL (6725 West Sunset

) debut on Sunday, April 13th, with musical direction and arrangements
by Tom Garvin and six of the best musicians in Los Angeles. Ms. BrooksÕ
vocal stylings and sultry stage presence harkens back to an era of truly
legendary singers. Some say that sheÕs a cross between Judy Garland
and Julie London but with a distinctive sound all her own.
Tom Garvin, who has written and arranged for Diana
Krall, Anita Baker, Sarah Vaughn and Carmen McRae, now masterfully
arranges an outstanding selection of songs from The Great American
Songbook for Ms. Brooks, fashioning them into uniquely rich and original
musical events.
