NEW CABARET SERIES BEGINS IN TORONTO
Starting in September, Statlers launches UPSTAIRS CABARET in the POLAR ICE LOUNGE (487 Church Street, Toronto, ON - 416-962-1209 - http://www.statlersonchurch.com/ ), with traditional one-hour cabaret shows.
This intimate 40+seat venue will feature a broad range of solo artists from the theatre, standards and jazz, roots, and singer/songwriter pop, in an exclusive environment that evokes the small performance venues that dot Manhattan's nightclub scene. NYC cabaret alumnus George Evans is booking the series, and each hand-picked artist will bring a unique show created just for us.
First show of the series is the opening night cabaret "launch" on Friday, September 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm followed by George Evans at 8:00 pm with Mark Eisenman. Performers appearing in September include Heather Bambrick on Saturday the 6th; Nathalie Nadon on Friday the 12th; Michael Danso with Joe Sealy on Saturday the 13th; Paula Wolfson with Jonathan Monro on the 19th; Sonya Cote on the 20th; on Friday the 26th Daniela Nardi hosts a songwriter showcase; Bonnie Brett with Mark Eisenman closes the month on Saturday the 27th.
All shows are at 8:00 pm, all shows have a cover charge plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
