KAREN OBERLIN SINGS THE SONGS OF THE WIZARD OF WORDS
Bistro Award-winning jazz-pop vocalist Karen Oberlin, an acclaimed recording
artist and 2007 Nightlife Award finalist for her recent show, "Like
Love; The Popular Songs of Andre Previn," brings a new show to THE METROPOLITAN

) for three Sundays in January. The show, "Yip Harburg's Songs of Wit
& Wisdom" will be presented on January 13th, 20th & 27th at 9:30 pm.
Ms. Oberlin is joined by Tedd Firth, Musical Director and Sean Smith
on Bass.
Ms. Oberlin has loved Harburg's lyrics since she was a young girl. Harburg
was an artist of extraordinary personal courage and compassion. In his
lyrics, great humor, fantasy and serious social satire glow together
like hues of that rainbow, and "The Wizard of Words" highlights his
most poignant and delightful.
