JACKIE DRAPER SINGS THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE AT THE BEECHMAN
Just in time for Valentine's Day, Jackie Draper will present her new
show :The Language of Love" at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN
THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 -

) on Sunday February 3rd at 5:00 pm and on Friday February 8th at
7:00 pm. Jackie is joined on stage by musical director is Gregory
Toroian, with Ritt Henn on bass. Also featured is dancer Franklin
Ayala. The show is directed by Helen Baldassare.
In the show, along with Jackie, the audience will
travel with Gershwin and Duke, through Weill and Nash, via Trenet
and Legrand, down Loesser Lane, with nods along the way to Lehrer,
Mercer, and Bucchino, among others, whose soaring songs inspire,
amuse, and refresh (in Spanish, French,and English) with their own
distinctive language of love.
This is Jackie's eighth one-woman show. Four have
been celebrated at Don't Tell Mama, two at Danny's Skylight Room,
one at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Jackie is thrilled to be returning
to the Laurie Beechman Theatre after last year's spring show.
Gregory Toroian has been a pianist, arranger, educator,
and Musical Director, for over 25 years. He won a 2005 MAC award
for the series of shows he performed with Sue Matsuki: "Ten Years
in the Making."
Helen Baldassare is the founder/director of Cabaret
Performance Workshop (www.helenbaldassare.com). She has won numerous
awards, the MAC among them, and has graced the stages of Off-Broadway,
regional theatre, summer stock, supper clubs and cabarets, here
and abroad. She has most recently appeared in the revival of the
award-winning revue: "Monday in the Dark with George" at The Duplex
Theatre in New York City.
