ORON STENESH AT THE DUPLEX PONDERS PRESIDENTIAL RACE
OLECTION, Oron Stenesh's newest one-man cabaret returns to THE DUPLEX
CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438 -

) on Thursday, February 28th at 7:00 pm. In this show Oron ponders
a run for the Presidency of the United States. Referencing divas Barbra
Streisand and Carol Channing, as well as Hillary Clinton and Harriet
Miers, Stenesh sinks his teeth into the current administration and
New York's Rudy Giuliani, while addressing the issue of gay marriage
in a Larry Craig-inspired spoken word poem. Additional material includes
music by Bill Finn, Kander and Ebb, and a tribute to coffee. Musical
Director is Tex Arnold.
Oron Stenesh created "The O Train" and "Olection"
at the Duplex and studied at the 2007 Cabaret Conference at Yale
University. He has also appeared in "Not Ur Everyday At" at the
Metropolitan Room and "Brite Nite" at Brite Bar with the Northwestern
University Entertainment Alliance. Theatre credits include an International
Tour of "Fame" as Schlomo, "Babes in Toyland" with the Little Orchestra
Society at Lincoln Center, "Far Away" at New York Theatre Workshop,
"A Christmas Carol" at the McCarter Theatre, "A Stoop on Orchard
Street" Off-Broadway at the Mazer Theatre, and "Mike Mulligan and
His Steam Shovel" with Theatreworks/USA.
He has appeared on ABC's "One Life to Live" and on
Nippon TV's "Tokyo Wonder Tours." His stand-up comedy has been seen
at New York Comedy Club, Hiroko's Place, and the Denizen Lounge,
and he has appeared with hip-hop's Miss Angelina and the Jersey
Boyz. He is a graduate of Northwestern University's Theatre and
Musical Theatre programs and proud member of MAC, AEA and AFTRA.
A native of Texas, Hubert "Tex" Arnold holds a master's
degree in music composition from Michigan State University. He began
his professional career in the late 60s as a staff arranger for
the United States Military Academy Band at West Point. For over
twenty five years he was musical director for the legendary Margaret
Whiting, arranging and conducting for her performances on radio,
television, and records, and with major symphony orchestras. He
has accompanied Broadway stars Melissa Errico at the Cafe Carlyle
in New York City, and Barbara Cook in concerts throughout the country,
including performances at the Los Angeles Music Center and Carnegie
Hall.
There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
