Award winning vocalist David Gurland returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE
BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 -

) for two nights, two different shows, two different musical directors
and lots of guest stars. In 2007, David Gurland premiered DGUR IN
CONCERT, an astounding 6-show series, featuring 5 brand new shows
along with a new version of his hit Madonna revue - NEUROTICA. Each
focused on a different genre - from women's songs to show tunes to
country music; from Judy Garland to 70s and 80s pop.
On Saturday March 1st at 7:00 pm he will present "Mostly
Country ... With a Madonna Chaser" and will feature musical director
Tim DiPasqua and special guest star Lisa Asher.
On Friday, March 14th at 8:00 pm, "Broadway, Judy
Garland and other Gals" musically directed by Ray Fellman, and featuring
Rob Maitner, Randi Driscoll and WICKED's Kristy Cates as guest stars.
For each show there is a $16 cover plus a $15 food/drink
minimum.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
David Gurland, who hails from New York City, has won
a place as one of the most formidable openly gay singers in New
York's music scene. Channeling cabaret experience and instincts
into his pop/rock shows, Gurland merges talent, presence and humor,
into an unforgettable entertainment experience. Gurland's accolades
include 5 MAC Award nominations, the MAC/Hanson Award, a Gay and
Lesbian American Music Award Nomination, and three Bistro Awards,
one of which recognized his first CD, released in 1999 to rave reviews.
Critics have raved about both Gurland's voice and his stage manner.
David has been seen at BB KINGS, The Cutting Room, The Bitter End,
Town Hall, the late great CB's Gallery, The Living Room, The Duplex,
and The Metropolitan Room, as well as out of town venues like Odette's
in New Hope, The Gardenia in LA, the Manor in NJ and Twiggs in San
Diego.
Lisa Asher has appeared as an actress and featured
vocalist in numerous theatrical and concert venues around the country.
Ms. Asher is the recipient of a MAC Award, as well as a Back Stage
Bistro Award for her solo work in cabarets in New York. Her critically
acclaimed debut CD, Let The Mystery Be, was nominated for a MAC
Award for Recording of the year. Lisa's newest CD, Lisa Asher Live
at The Duplex, was just released and is a faithful recording of
her highly successful show that enjoyed a lengthy run at the famed
Greenwich Village nightclub, The Duplex. Ms. Asher has performed
numerous times for the Mabel Mercer Foundation's Cabaret Conventions
in San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Chicago and at Town Hall in
NYC and was featured as part of their 20th Anniversary Gala performances
at Lincoln Center last October.. Lisa is currently working with
James Williams Productions (JWP) on an off Broadway show entitled
Last Call featuring the music of CMA award winning songwriter Victoria
Shaw. Lisa made her national television debut in a solo vocal performance
on the Emmy Award-winning The Rosie O'Donnell Show. She was the
winner of the 2006 Night life award for outstanding female vocalist.
In 2003, Kristy Cates starred in the off-Broadway
production Boobs! The Musical which celebrated the songs of legendary
50's and 60's singer, Ruth Wallis. Playing Ruth Wallis herself along
with a barrage of other characters (including a medicated Mary Poppins,
and a Follies Bergere wannabe) Three months into the run, Kristy
auditioned for and was cast in the new musical, Wicked as a member
of the ensemble and understudy to Idina Menzel. As a member of the
Wicked cast, she performed on the 2004 Tony Awards, the Late Show
with David Letterman and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. In
March of 2005, when the star of the Wicked national tour, the incomparable
Stephanie Block, was injured, Kristy was immediately flown to Toronto
to play Elphaba as Stephanie recovered. While in Toronto, she was
asked to join the Chicago cast of Wicked as standby to SNL alum,
Ana Gasteyer. In Chicago, Kristy performed the role of Elphaba many
times and was seen performing last summer at the annual Taste of
Chicago. She was honored to sing the National Anthem for the Chicago
Bulls, White Sox, and last year on Veterans Weekend at a VERY WINDY
Chicago Bears football game.
Tim Dipasqua, a native of San Francisco, is a Singer/Songwriter
who has been awarded the Backstage Bistro Award twice. Once for
Outstanding Singer/Instrumentalist and one for Outstanding Special
Performance. Tim has also received 9 nominations from the Manhattan
Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), including four as Singer/Instrumentalist,
one for Recording of the year, and one for Song of the Year that
he shared with Tom Andersen. As a solo artist, Tim has performed
in all the major clubs and halls in New York; Joe's Pub, Birdland,
The Bitter End, The Russian Tea Room, Town Hall, The Metropolitan
Room, Caroline's, Carnegie Hall, Eighty-Eights, The Triad, The Village
Gate, The Duplex, Don't tell Mama's, Tavern on the Green, The Laurie
Beechman Theatre and Sardi's as guest vocalist with The Joe Traina
Quintet. As a Songwriter. He has contributed his talents to some
of New York's finest, including Philip Officer, Brandon Cutrell
and Alix Korey. Tim has many CD's in his catalog. One of which features
David Gurland- The PURPOSE OF LOVE Ð A TIM DI PASQUA SONGBOOK Volumes
ONE and TWO. The recording was inspired by his BISTRO-winning concert
of the same name featuring some of the best vocalists from the Pop
world and the Broadway stage including Stephen Schwartz, Brian Lane
Green, Ann Marie, Capathia Jenkins, and Heather Mac Rae.
Randi Driscoll's piano-driven acoustic music is as
hauntingly modern as it is classic. Randi was named Campus Activities
Magazine's 'Female Performer of the year 2004' and 'Best Small Venue
Performer 2004'. She has opened for Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby,
Pat Benatar, Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Browne. Randi has performed
at Lincoln Center in the "Bang on a Can Festival", the 2001 Human
Rights Campaign dinner in Washington, D.C. with keynote speaker
Hillary Clinton, and the New York City Hall Pride Awards honoring
Whoopi Goldberg and Olympia Dukakis. Randi's music has been featured
in documentaries, commercials and the WB hit series, "Dawson's Creek".
In 1998, Randi wrote and recorded the benefit single, "What Matters,"
in response to the death of Matthew Shepard, a young man killed
in a brutal hate crime. The song was written to honor his life,
his family and the unconditional love they represent. To date, the
"What Matters" has raised over $35,000 for the Matthew Shepard Foundation,
started by Matthew's parents after their son's death.
Ray Fellman continues to have an active career as
a singer, musical director, and pianist. In New York City, Ray was
the musical director for Stephen Schwartz's Off-Broadway production
and national tour of Captain Louie (Little Schubert Theater) as
well as a revue of Schwartz's lesser known works entitled Reluctant
Pilgrim (Barrow Group). Other M.D. credits include New York Musical
Theater Festival's Richard Rodgers' Award winning musical, The Tutor;
Tony award winning Rachel Shenkin (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling
Bee) and Joel Derfner's Blood Drive (workshop-O'Neill Center Musical
Theater Conference); Lauren Robert's award winning .22 Caliber Mouth
(Ohio Theater) with director Diane Paulis (The Donkey Show). Ray
was the pianist and arranger for the Les Miserables contribution
to the B.C.E.F.A. 2007 Easter Bonnet Competion at the Minskoff Theater
with Tess Adams and Anne Runolfsson. Also active as a cabaret artist,
Ray was the M.D./arranger for the 2007 Manhattan Association of
Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) Awards at B.B. Kings and also received
a 2007 Back Stage Magazine Bistro Award for his musical direction
of The After Party, an ongoing show hosted by Brandon Cutrell, featuring
Broadway's finest every Friday night at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.
He has also been seen behind the piano at Feinstien's at the Regency,
The Oak Room at the Algonquin, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan
Room, Don't Tell Mama's and the Duplex Cabaret Theatre with such
artists as Karen Mason ( Mama Mia), Lauren Molina (Sweeney Todd),
Liz McCartney (Taboo), Kristy Cates (Wicked), Nicole Parker (MAD
TV, Martin Short, Fame Becomes Him), Lindsay Alley (The New Mickey
Mouse Club) and Brandon Cutrell (MAC/Bistro Award and Time Out Magazine's
Top 10 Cabarets of 2006).
A popular actor in the downtown theatre scene, Rob
Maitner has created roles in several landmark productions including
Mr. McQueen in the world premiere of URINETOWN! THE MUSICAL at the
New York International Fringe Festival, as well as the role of Dim
in the New York premiere of Anthony Burgess' A CLOCKWORK ORANGE,
Rob received a FringeNYC performance award for his acclaimed turn
as Shannon in Brad Faser's POOR SUPER MAN. Other credits include
a revival of Steve Martin's PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE, which he
performed for President and Senator Clinton. In the Summer of 2005,
Rob played John the Baptist in CORPUS CHRISTI at the Jean Cocteau
Rep, as well as the leading role in the hit NY International Fringe
Festival blockbuster FLEET WEEK. Regionally he has appeared at Cape
May Stages, Orlando Shakespeare Festival, and Pennsylvania Shakespeare
Festival. A Bistro Award winning singer, he is working on bringing
back is enormously successful Disney romp, 'The Misadventures of
Robbie Maitner'.
