ARNALDO! LIVE AT THE DUPLEX AFTER BISTRO AWARD HONORS
Arnaldo!, Seattle's own drag chanteuse, who has been named a 2008
Backstage Bistro Award winner for his cabaret shows in New York, will
be flying to New York to accept this honor at the special BACK STAGE
BISTRO AWARD show on April 7th. While in NY, Arnaldo! will be at THE
DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438
-
http://www.theduplex.com/
) for two performances, on Tuesday & Wednesday, April 8th & 9th at
7:00 pm. Arnaldo is joined by Bob Bruneau, accompanist.
This show is a special homage to one of the greatest
singers of the American Songbook, the iconic and inspirational Judy
Garland. The rest of the program will musically weave through various
eras - from Rodgers & Hart to Sondheim - and with a dash of international
flavor that is characteristic of an Arnaldo! performance.
Arnaldo started as a soloist with the Seattle Men's
Chorus and has performed with SMC in some of the major concert halls
in the US, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. In 1999, Arnaldo started
a solo cabaret show to sold out runs in Seattle's trendy Capitol
Hill and has since performed his one person cabaret in Portland,
OR, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, New York and
Philadelphia. Arnaldo has also collaborated with various directors,
choreographers and songwriters in the Seattle area.
In 2005, he completed the Cabaret Summer Conference
Workshop at Yale University. 2007 marked Arnaldo's New York cabaret
debut.
There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
