DAVID A. GREEN'S CABARET DEBUT EXTENDED AT BROADWAY BABY
BROADWAY BABY BISTRO & PIANO LOUNGE (318 West 53rd Street, NYC - 212-757-5808
-

) has extended the run of actor-singer David A. Green's cabaret debut,
which played to sellout crowds in March. His show, "Ladies' Man",
returns for two more performances on Tuesdays, April 22nd and 29th
at 7:00 pm. Subtitled "Celebrating My 'X'", the show is a celebration
of David's feminine side as told through song, from Broadway favorites
to Parisian standards, in both English and French. Joining David onstage
are mezzo-soprano Lynne Greene-Brooke, as well as Thomas Menninger
on accordion and music director Jon Delfin on piano under the direction
of Gregory Bossler.
As an actor, David most recently appeared in New
York as The Baron in Theatre Unplugged's production of Madwoman
of Chaillot, directed by Mary Boyer. Other roles have included Tom
in Tom and Viv, King Henry VIII in Man for All Seasons, and Ranevskaya
in The (Low Life) Cherry Orchard - his first portrayal of a female
character, albeit in full beard and not drag, which offered him
the chance to explore the psychology and fragile ego of the most
feminine of Chekhov heroines.
Ms. Greene-Brooke's 30-plus-year career has included
Broadway musicals, operetta, Gilbert & Sullivan, and grand opera.
She appeared in London, Paris, and Rome and has toured the Eastern
states. Her favorite roles are Kate in Kiss Me Kate and Eleanor
of Aquitaine in Lion in Winter. She is married to her singer-writer-director
Bill Brooke.
Mr. Menninger was taught accordion by his father,
who gave him an appreciation of jazz standards and pop music. In
the 1980s and '90s he joined a couple of indie rock and new wave
bands, where he played keyboards and wrote original music.
There is a $15 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
