NYC: "NATALIE DOUGLAS' NEW YEAR'S EVE BASH!" AT THE DUPLEX
7-time MAC Award, Nightlife Award and Bistro Award Winner, Natalie Douglas presents "Natalie Douglas' 2009 New Year's Eve Bash!" at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 1-212-255-5438) on Thursday, December 31st with performances at 8:00 & 10:45 pm. Natalie, along with her friend and Musical Director Mark Hartman at the piano, promise an intimate gathering as Natalie sings her favorite songs and tells her famed stories. Natalie's singing appearances include Birdland, Feinstein's, The Kennedy Center and many of Cabaret Conventions across the U.S. and in London. Her second CD, To Nina ... Live At Birdland, was released to critical acclaim and selections from that CD and her first, Not That Different, continue to be heard on NPR, Sirius and XM Radio. NYC: JOAN CROWE AT EDISON BALLROOM NEW YEAR'S EVE
Joan Crowe will be performing with Joe Battaglia & the 17-piece New York Big Band on New Year's Eve, Thursday, December 31st at THE EDISON BALLROOM (240 West 47th Street, NYC) with sets from 8:00 pm to 2:30 am, alternating with a Latin combo. 4-course dinner served at 8:00 pm. Tickets for dinner and dancing are $350 per person, which includes all food, drinks, and gratuities. After 10:00 pm, general admission tickets are also available at a price of $125 per person, which includes drinks, hor d'oeuvres, gratuities, and of course dancing until 2:30 am. NYC: LIZ McCARTNEY NEW YEARS EVE AT THE LAURIE BEECHMAN
THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) will celebrate New Year's Eve on Thursday, December 31st with Hors' d'Oeuvres and 3-course dinner at 8:30 pm followed at 10:15 pm with a performance featuring Broadway's Liz McCartney, currently appearing in Lincoln Center Theatre's South Pacific, accompanied by the Ray Fellman trio, who will present an array of songs from the Great White Way, in addition to a special tribute to McCartney's musical muse, the late Rosemary Clooney. Dinner includes an array of appetizers, entrees and desserts from a special menu designed by Executive Chef Joe Marcus. At midnight, the club will cut live to Times Square, projected on their big screen. Due to the central location of The Laurie Beechman Theatre, it is highly recommended that all patrons arrive no later than 8:15 pm. NYC: LIZ CALLAWAY NEW YEAR'S EVE AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM
THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) welcomes back the Tony nominated and Emmy-winning Liz Callaway in a one-night only encore of her hit show "Passage of Time" on New Year's Eve, December 31st, with performances at 8:00 & 10:30 pm. Based on her newly released album of the same name, "Passage of Time" includes timely numbers by Carly Simon, Stephen Schwartz, the Beatles, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Maltby and Shire, Stephen Sondheim and John Bucchino, among others. Seen most recently on Broadway in "The Look of Love," Callaway made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Sondheim's "Merrily We Roll Along." Besides "Baby" (for which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical) she starred in "Cats," "Miss Saigon" and "The Three Musketeers." "Passage of Time" is Callaway's first album in eight years. There is a $40 cover plus 2-drink minimum for the 8:00 pm show and the 10:30 pm show has a $125 cover which includes hors d'oeuvres, dessert, a champagne toast and open bar.
NYC: NEW YEAR'S EVE:A NIGHT OF MAYHEM AND TALENT
THE STONEWALL INN (53 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-488-2705 - ) will celebrate New Year's Eve on Thursday, December 31st with an evening billed as "a night of mayhem and talent." Bistro, MAC, and Nightlife Award Winner Brandon Cutrell co-hosts with Uncut's Melissa E. Driscol. Miss Fire Island Ariel Sinclair and Miss Stonewall Chocolatina will also be featured. All will be joined by Robby Stamper at the piano and DJ CT Cook. Doors will open at 9:00 pm, the show will begin at 9:30 pm, and at 11:55 the event will cut to Times Square on the big screen to count down to the new year. The show will feature musical performances by Brandon Cutrell and Melissa E. Driscol, as well as variety acts by Ariel Sinclair and Chocolatina. No one under 21 will be admitted. There are two ticket options available for this event at this historical and recently renovated venue. $100 includes open bar until 2:00 am, a casual buffet, and the show. $35 includes a cash bar and the show. NYC: MICHAEL FEINSTEIN & BARBARA COOK IN NEW YEAR'S SHOW
FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095) with club's founder Michael Feinstein and Tony Award winning Broadway legend Barbara Cook in a special New Years Eve celebration on Thursday, December 31st, with performances at 7:15 & 9:00 pm. The two acclaimed vocalists, along with Feinstein's longtime Musical Director John Oddo leading the all-star quintet, will join together for a show of jazz standards and Broadway favorites to bring in the New Year. Michael Feinstein is a multi-platinum selling, five-time Grammy nominated entertainer, and is considered one of the premiere interpreters of American Popular Song. His 150 plus shows a year have included Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl and major concert halls, as well as the White House and Buckingham Palace. Barbara Cook was a Broadway's favorite during the heyday of the Broadway musical and then launched a second career as a concert and recording artist soaring from one professional peak to another. Her silvery soprano, purity of tone, and warm presence have delighted audiences around the world for more than 50 years. The 7:15 pm show has a $200 general admission cover with a $40 food/drink minimum. The 9:00 pm show has $250 general admission cover with a $100 food/drink minimum (premium seats are available for both shows).
NYC: NEW YEAR'S EVE WITH STEVE TYRELL AT CAFE CARLYLE
On Thursday, December 31st, THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) will present Steve Tyrell performing "The Time Of The Year" with shows at 6:00 and 9:30 pm. This appearance marks Steve Tyrell's fifth consecutive holiday engagement in the legendary New York venue. Backed by his swinging big band, Steve will offer an evening of standards from the Great American Songbook, holiday favorites, and selections from his latest CD. The 6:00 show (seating at 5:30 pm) has a ticket price of $130 and includes a champagne toast. The 9:30 show (seating at 9:00 pm includes a Black Tie 4-course Gala Dinner designed by Executive Chef James Sakatos at $450.
NYC: A NEW YEAR'S EVE CELEBRATION LILLIAS WHITE EVENT CANCELLED
City Hall Restaurant and MJS LIVE, Inc. present "A Brand New Year Me!", A New Year's Eve celebration with Tony & Emmy Award Winner Lillias White at THE GRANITE ROOM at CITY HALL RESTAURANT (131 Duane Street, NYC - 212-227-7777) on Thursday, December 31st. This special celebration is scheduled for two shows, at 8:30 and 11:30 pm. Accompanying Ms. White is pianist Miles Dalto. Currently starring in the new musical Fela! on Broadway, the Ms. White, recipient of Tony, Emmy, Obie, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards will perform a very special New Year's Eve celebration of her favorite songs of love, reflection and self satisfaction. Lillias White is the recent recipient of a 2009 Best Actress LA Ovation Award nomination for her performance in Cy Coleman's The Best is Yet to Come. Ms. White debuted on Broadway in Barnum in 1981 and has since appeared in the original and 1987 revival productions of Dreamgirls, Cats, Rock'N'Roll! The First 5000 Years, Carrie, and Chicago. Her tour-de-force performance in Cy Coleman's The Life was honored with the 1997 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. NYC: MIKE STERN BAND AT THE IRIDIUM FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE
IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) presents the Mike Stern Band featuring Victor Wooten, Dennis Chambers and Randy Brecker for a special New Year's Eve celebration on Thursday, December 31st with shows at 8:30 & 10:30 pm. In a career that spans three decades and a discography that includes more than a dozen eclectic and innovative recordings, five-time GRAMMY nominee Mike Stern has established himself as one of the premier jazz and jazz-fusion guitarists and composers of his generation. In February 2009, Stern was named to the DownBeat magazine's list of 75 Great Guitarists. Tickets for the 8:30 pm show are $45 with a $10 food/drink minimum. The 10:30 pm show is $125 and includes show, 3-course Dinner and VIP Seating. $65 ticket only mezzanine seating for second show also available.
N.Y.STATE: NEW YEAR'S EVE EXTRAVAGANZA IN NYACK
Neil Berg brings his hit national touring show "100 Years of Broadway" back to RIVERSPACE ARTS IN NYACK (119 Main Street, Nyack, NY - 845-348-1880) for an encore performance for one night only, New Year's Eve, Thursday, December 31st at 8:00 pm. Broadway's greatest talents recreate songs and roles they made famous on Broadway. The concert features Broadway stars Carter Calvert (It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues), Robert DuSold (Les Miserables), Rita Harvey (Phantom of the Opera), Ted Levy (Jelly's Last Jam), Andrea Rivette (Jekyll and Hyde), and Danny Zolli (Jesus Christ Superstar) singing the finest hit songs of the last 100 years of Broadway musicals. CHI: AVA LOGAN QUARTET AT POPS FOR CHAMPAGNE

FLA: NEW YEAR'S EVE AT THE ROYAL ROOM WITH MARY WILSON
Motown legend Mary Wilson will headline at ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) on New Year's Eve, Thursday, December 31st. It was a vision of musical stardom as a Detroit teen that inspired Mary Wilson to co-found one of the most successful female singing groups in recording history - The Supremes. With an unprecedented 12 number-one hits, including "Where Did Our Love Go," "Baby Love," "Come See About Me" and "Stop, In The Name Of Love," The Supremes set the precedent for super group success. L.A.AREA: NEW YEAR'S EVE MARDI GRAS BASH AT SCHROEDER'S
SCHROEDER'S at Tango Del Rey (3567 Del Rey St, San Diego, CA - 858-794-9044 - ) will holds its first New Year's Eve Mardi Gras Bash on December 31st, with doors opening at 7:30 pm and the bands starting at 9:00 pm. The event features two Bands, two dance floors, Cajun food, midnight toast and lots of beads. Swing, Blues, and Zydeco music to dance in the New Year with Charles Burton Blues Group and Theo and the Zydeco Patrol. Cost is $55.
S.F.AREA: THREE CLASSIC JAZZ SINGERS FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE
Robin Gregory, Ed Reed and Anna DeLeon tam up for a mellow evening of song at ANNA'S JAZZ ISLAND (2120 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA - 510-841-5299) on New Year's Eve, December 31st with sets at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Robin Gregory is renowned as a skillful interpreter of the Great American Songbook. Ed Reed, back from New York, Europe and the Marian McPartland Show, personifies classic vocal jazz steeped in the tradition of Johnny Hartman. Anna De Leon is a club owner who identifies with the musicians. They are joined by Dee Spencer, Piano; Erich Hunt, Bass; and Jimmy Robinson, Drums. $30 cover includes complimentary champagne dessert.

RRAZZ ROOM at THE HOTEL NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-394-1189) presens Tony Award-winning Soul Diva Melba Moore on Thursday, December 31st with shows at 7:30 & 10:30 pm for a special "Melba Toast To The New Year". Melba Moore's enduring beauty and strong, four-octave voice have assured her a rewarding career in theater, television, and film. Finding fame in the offbeat hippie musical Hair in the late 1960s, the singer has not been out of work since. As a chanteuse, Moore has been at home in a variety of genres, including rhythm and blues, gospel, rock and roll, and pop. Tickets for the 7:30 show are $45.
